At the press conference in Locarno, you mentioned that you and your cameraman Jan Vancaillie often looked at the work of German photographers.

"Yes, I don't know why, but a lot of contemporary German photographers often take pictures of the kind of people I've portrayed in my films. Usually just people they pick out on the street and then photograph them in a domestic situation. These photos have also inspired us; they are often very realistic in light, a tad harsh too.” (De Morgen)
